Leoni's fight against NCL

100 fits a day and more

In the first week of January 2010 Leoni falls down a lot. While she was drinking her hands fall down,
and while sitting up her upper body falls forward. She blinks a lot and rolls her eyes.
The EEG shows that every blink is an absence, a fit.
All togehter Leoni had about 150 till 200 fits a day. She gets more antiepileptic drugs. Sometimes two or three different ones,
some are effective for only a few weeks after that not anymore and we are forced to try new drugs.
Our doctor who is an expert on that subject does not surrender.
I do not tell Maria anymore that we are in a better position than other parents.
